A recent work shown at Apparatus Projects for their show I feel like a bootlegger’s wife. Look! entitled Today is Sunday March 27 2022 (Oggi è venerdì ventisette marzo millenovecentosettanta) 1970/2022 [and it is my birthday]. This is a “recreation” of a work by Aligheiro E Boetti who enacted the original 24 years to the day before I was born, and who passed less than a month after my entry into this world on April 24th, 1994. Due to COVID the end of the show was postponed, so the added bit of language became, “and it was my birthday.” Temporal borders and definitive markers of identification slip a bit as global illness and show paramaters force a different approach to the language used.
