In 2021 GENERAL ANTAGONISM saw part of itself manifest as an in-person reading night. In light of recent pandemic developments this will be transitioning to a zoom based event. If possible going forward a twitch based event. While GA has always sought to pay its readers for the work they do, going forward we will continue to attempt to do this, but a majority of the donations that the reading series receives will go towards creating a mutual aid fund for local Chicago residents negatively impacted by COVID-19 resulting in loss of work, medical bills, etc. This will necesarily be within the sphere that GA exists in–the Logan Square and surrounding areas–but will hopefully be able to do good work regardless. It’s about creating a fund to support the community that we live in.
On this page you will find current and past posters for the events, zoom links, as well as updates on what money is coming in for this fund. As we go forward we will also do the work to have accessible recordings of the past events, as well as creating situations in which the events themselves are as accessible as possible.
